All conventional thermoforming methods can be used to form parts from KYDEX sheet for mass transit applications: positive-air pressure, drape, plug assist, vacuum snap-back, and billow forming. Because KYDEX is an especially "forgiving" material, simple molds of wood, epoxy, urethane, and aluminum are adequate. Typically, no pre-drying is required.
KYDEX sheet offers exceptional resistance to a wide range of concentrated chemicals and solvents, allowing graffiti/spray paint, lipstick, ballpoint pen, felt pen, grease, and grime to be easily removed using harsh cleansers with no staining or fading.
Over 3000 developed colors are available in 8 surface textures from 0.71mm to 12.70mm (0.028" to 0.500"), enabling you to satisfy both the functional and aesthetic requirements of any mass transit vehicle interior.
