1965
KYDEX® 100 sheet welcomed into the world by Rohm and Haas Company, outside Philadelphia, PA. With FAR 25.853 (a) and UL recognized fire rating. Mechanical properties destined for aircraft interior applications. You know the story: impact & chemical resistant, custom colour, deep-draw capable fire rated. Thermoform it and BINGO: a material that scoffs at abuse.
1987
KYDEX, LLC, then Kleerdex Company, purchased the KYDEX® sheet product line.
1990
Manufacturing begins in Bloomsburg. Product line and market expands. Cue mass transit. Electrical enclosures. Medical products. General purpose grades outperforming comparably priced competitive products. Users employ KYDEX® materials in ever-abounding applications and industries. Protective wall-covering over routed MDF for commercial furniture, kiosks, displays and store fixtures. Enter the membrane press. Watch surfaces for foam or wood components evolve to virtually damage proof building materials. Wire management. Beveled edges. Under-cuts. The list goes on.
1993
Kleerdex Company becomes one of the first North American ISO 9001 certified manufacturers.
1995
Design joins the family. Integral granite pattern, granite-capped with clear film on KYDEX® substrate. (Present day: add woven carbon fiber, metallics, and wood grains.)
2001
KYDEX, LLC awarded ISO 14001 certification.
2003
KYDEX, LLC upgrades ISO 9002 registration for ISO0991:2000 standard.
2006
Customer service and marketing settles in Bloomsburg.
2009
KYDEX, LLC adds co-extrusion line production capability and utilizes UV-resistant caps. Kleerdex Company becomes KYDEX, LLC.
2010
KYDEX debuts integral pearlesent sheet with KYDEX® 6503 for aviation interiors.
2011
KYDEX launcheds KYDEX® XD03 - integral pearlescent sheet for retail fit-outs and building interiors.
2012
Ronn Cort becomes President at KYDEX.
KYDEX takes the aviation interiors industry by storm with the first ever coloured-translucent thermoplastic sheet.
